Full Job Description
The Programs Assistant will assist in providing day-to-day operational activities for the REACH Program and other Wellness Coalition programs. Responsibilities will include office duties, reception, document preparation, arranging meetings and keeping records of meetings, and other supportive tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in carrying out various aspects of the REACH project as assigned by the Executive Director, the Wellness Programs Coordinator and REACH management team members, as well as activities outlined in the Community Action Plan.
- Assist in carrying out Wellness Case Management and other Coalition programs, as needed.
- Assist in maintenance of educational materials inventory, storage, and record keeping.
- Assist the Wellness Programs Coordinator, REACH Project Coordinator, and REACH staff in all program activities.
- Assist in the implementation of community development activities to generate interest in community-wide, evidence-based interventions outlined in the Community Action Plan.
- Assist the REACH Project Coordinator and Wellness Programs Manager with REACH Steering Committee efforts and other program and community meetings.
- Attend and keep minutes of REACH Steering Committee and program staff meetings.
- Provide assistance to the REACH Health Care Access Coordinator and Healthy Foods/Physical Activity Coordinator and subcontractors.
- Provide clerical assistance in arranging training and professional development for staff, partners and volunteers.
- Assist in obtaining input from River Region REACH team members for REACH Program Coordinator in preparation of monthly, bi-annual and annual progress reports and other program reports.
- Assist Executive Director, REACH Project Coordinator and Wellness Programs Manager, as needed.
Requirements
- Some knowledge of health programs/projects assistance/administration
- Well organized with good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic knowledge of computer programs and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to manage a variety of activities/projects
- Ability to perform in a high demand environment
- Ability to cooperate, relate well, and be productive with co-workers and community partners
- Willingness to work some evenings and weekends and to travel to neighboring counties
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a health-related environment or in an administrative position and experience assisting with health programs preferred. Valid Alabama driver’s license required.
