Dana Lewis is an Alabama native who is also the founder, creator, and developer of the Do-It-Yourself Pancreas System (#DIYPS), an “open loop” system to deliver alerts and insulin dosing recommendations that significantly improve daily outcomes for people with diabetes.
Dana is leading an open and transparent effort to make safe and effective artificial pancreas system technology widely available in an effort to to improve the lives of, and reduce the burden of, those living with type 1 diabetes.
Dana has been awarded the “Best Use of Intel Edison” Award by the Edison Foundation, and was noted as one of Fast Company’s “100 Most Creative People in Business” in 2017.
