Position Title: Health Equity Alliance Program Coordinator

Reports To: Executive Director

This is a responsible position providing coordination of the Health Equity Alliance Program, which will work to ensure equity in health care access, initially with COVID-19 vaccinations and education. Program focus areas are: (1) Coalition Development, (2) Vaccine Access, and (3) Education and Outreach.

Major tasks include planning to meet program objectives; developing and implementing the work plan; monitoring program activities to ensure the program is compliant with grant requirements; coordinating the program with other aspects of The Wellness Coalition’s programs; developing and submitting reports; interacting with the Granting Agency (CDC Foundation), community partners, and media, and otherwise representing The Wellness Coalition and the Health Equity Alliance Program in the community to ensure program success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall management of all aspects of the Health Equity Alliance Program including monitoring of implementation of grant goals, objectives, and work plan activities, documentation, reporting and accountability to funding sources.
  • Provide leadership for organizing the River Region Health Equity Alliance, ensuring broad representation of community and stakeholders, and developing a clear structure for roles and operation.
  • Ensure that Alliance meeting notices are distributed, membership lists maintained, and minutes kept.
  • Work with the Alliance members to plan and implement informal and formal strategies to improve vaccine access and to mobilize community partnerships, collaboration and leveraging of resources to improve equity in access to vaccines.
  • Work with Alliance and TWC Communications Director to develop a communications plan and outreach & education materials pertaining to health equity in COVID-19 and vaccination. * Plan and implement a multi-channel plan for disseminating program policies and activities to a broad audience, including board members, partners, and the public.
  • Work with Executive Director to select subgrantees to provide program services. * Work with Executive Director to hire/contract with Community Wellbeing Ambassadors to implement informal strategies; provide training, guidance and supervision for CWA’s. * Work with other Wellness Coalition program coordinators to ensure program integration with other services, especially other COVID-19 efforts.
  • Maintain and review data related to staff work performance, conduct performance evaluations and, respond as appropriate.
  • Provide/arrange training and professional development for TWC staff, partners and volunteers regarding the COVID-19 vaccine and getting vaccinations.
  • Obtain input from TWC team members and prepare the required progress reports, as well as other reports and presentations as needed.
  • Ensure data are available for preparation of program evaluation reports and participate in Evaluation Team activities.
  • Assist Executive Director and other TWC staff with any other functions that are required.

Requirements: 

  • Some knowledge of health programs/projects assistance/administration
  • Well organized with good verbal and written communication
  • Knowledge of computer programs, especially those related to data entry and reporting
  • Ability to manage a variety of activities/projects
  • Ability to perform in a high demand environment
  • Ability to cooperate, relate well, and be productive with co-workers and community partners
  • Willing to work some evenings and weekends and to travel to neighboring counties

Qualifications: 

  • The successful candidate will have a solid combination of training, knowledge, and experience in health program/project management/implementation/ marketing, public relations, human resources, and grants management.
  • This individual must be skilled in verbal and written communication, well organized, computer literate and capable of managing a variety of activities/projects. Must have experience in community engagement, marketing and public relations and must be able to perform in a high stress environment.
  • Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in public health, health-related field, public administration, communications/marketing or nursing degree is required.
  • Experience in health field, marketing, public relations, and work with program and grants management is preferred.

Compensation:

Job type: Full-time

Pay: $34,000.00 – $36,500.00 per year
